Pet Dental Care for a Healthy Mouth and Longer Life

Dental disease is the most common disease in both cats and dogs. It causes not only pain and discomfort, but it will affect your pet’s overall health if left untreated. However, with regular pet dental care, this prevalent disease can be completely avoided. At DePorre Veterinary Hospital, we serve Bloomfield pets with advanced dental care and will help you establish an at-home care plan, too.

Pet Dental Care in Bloomfield Hills: Owner Pets Dog

At Home Pet Dental Care

There’s a lot you can do for your pet’s oral health at home. Brushing their teeth daily is the single most effective way to prevent tartar build-up. However, brushing can be a challenge for busy people with uncooperative pets! It’s still worth a try, but if your pet simply doesn’t take to it, we will recommend other options. Dental care can involve any of the following including:

  • Dental chews
  • Water additives
  • Dental chew toys
  • Dental diets

We recommend products approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC). Visit vohc.org for a full list of approved products.

Schedule an appointment today for your pet’s teeth cleaning! We’ll also talk to you about your pet dental care options at home including techniques for brushing and which other products will work best for you and your pet.

Dr. Corey Gut is wonderful. My kitty had to have a dental cleaning, and during his intial appointment she explained everything in detail and made me feel very comfortable. The cleaning went very well, and his pearly whites look better than ever 🙂

Will be bringing my other three kitties here!
