AAHA Accredited Animal Hospital in Bloomfield Hills
There’s no better way to showcase our dedication to animal health than with an accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Accreditation is entirely voluntary, but we believe in treating pets with the best that veterinary medicine has to offer. AAHA is the only organization that offers animal hospitals an opportunity for accreditation, and only about 15% of animal hospitals in the US and Canada achieve this designation. Becoming an AAHA-accredited hospital was an important accomplishment for DePorre Veterinary Hospital and we’re proud to offer the pets of Bloomfield Hills care they can count on.
The Accreditation Process
AAHA holds animal hospitals to rigorous standards, but in 2013, we knew we were up to the challenge. AAHA’s Standards of Excellence cover over 900 elements of an animal hospital, so accreditation is no easy task! After a thorough evaluation by an AAHA representative, we became AAHA accredited. Every three years, we undergo another evaluation to make sure our standards remain in excellent standing. Some of the areas AAHA evaluators cover include:
- Cleanliness and hygiene
- Surgical procedures
- Anesthetic protocols
- Vaccinations
- Emergency protocols
- Handling techniques
- And so much more
