Meet Our Team in Bloomfield Hills
Meet our pet groomers, animal caregivers, and technician assistants! They help us in a variety of ways throughout the hospital by providing support to our grooming, medical, and boarding teams. Learn more about our team below!
Annika is a junior at Saginaw Valley State University where she is studying large animal veterinary medicine. She started working with us in 2017. Here at DePorre, she appreciates all the opportunities she has received including meeting doctors and other employees who have furthered her knowledge about animals and working in a professional environment.
In her life, she has had many pets. Her two in heaven are Beemer, a Redbone Coonhound, and Heavy Duty, her Quarterhorse. Currently, her family consists of her brother, and several fur family members including Chella, her beautiful mutt; Moritz, her German Shepherd; and Max, her German Shorthaired Pointer. She also has a Main Coon cat named Kaffee and an Old Style Morgan horse named Tilly. Annika's hobbies include horseback riding, which she likes to do four times a week, playing video games, and hanging with her dogs and cat. They are more entertaining than TV most of the time! She also enjoys traveling back home to Germany, where the rest of her family lives.
Chelsea attended Oakland Community College and joined our team in 2015. While working here, she appreciates that everyone puts the safety, well-being, and comfort of every animal first.
At home, Chelsea has a dog named Sasha, a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure named Rori, and a snake named Scarlett. Chelsea's hobbies including working out, yoga, reading, learning to play the guitar, modeling, and spending time with friends and family.
Hannah is currently working on her bachelor's degree in biology. She joined us in 2015 and appreciates that DePorre has given her the opportunity to learn from the best veterinary group in the region. It is incredibly fulfilling to be a part of a team that utilizes the strengths, knowledge, and experience of its members.
At home, she has two Budgie birds named Ari and Xeph, as well as her dog, Wheatley, a goofy Miniature Poodle mix. In her free time, she and Wheatley love to hike local trails. Wheatley is also one of the best road trip companions!
Kyle joined the DePorre team in 2017. He is currently in school to obtain his associate degree. He appreciates that everyone at DePorre cares so much about animals and does everything they can to ensure they are safe and healthy.
Kyle lives with his mother and brother, and they have two dogs at home named Oscar (Dachshund) and Charlie (a Yorkie). He enjoys working with animals, as well as watching movies, particularly comic book movies, and playing video games.
Lisa works as a technician assistant and groomer at DePorre and has been with us since 2016. She earned her associate degree in business from Baker College in 2017 and is currently enrolled in an occupational therapy assistant course at Baker. In her role at DePorre, she appreciates how well both sides of the practice and grooming staff work together to implement fear-free techniques throughout the entire hospital.
At home, she has a Miniature Australian Shepherd/Spaniel mix named Koda as well as an Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix named Cali. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, bike riding, boarding, summer sports, working out, and hanging out on the lake with her boyfriend and friends who feel like family. She also enjoys traveling to different parts of Michigan and the upper peninsula with her boyfriend.
Meredith joined our team in 2018 and has a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. She appreciates the friendly work environment and how we strive to be fear free as a clinic.
Meredith is recently engaged to her fiance, Karl, and they are currently planning their wedding in July 2020 in northern Michigan. They have two pets including Chacha, a rescue, and Kenzie a West Highland Terrier. In her spare time, Meredith enjoys being outside. Karl and she love to go backpacking and are in the process of planning their next big trip to Glacier National Park. She also enjoys snuggling with her two pups!
Melissa became a team member at DePorre in 2016 and she works as a technician assistant. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University. At DePorre, she loves the friendly environment as well as the multiple learning opportunities she encounters every day.
Melissa's family includes her mom, dad, and brother, as well as a god-dog named Dakota who is a chocolate Lab. Her interests outside of work include hockey, cheerleading, spending time with friends and family, and expanding her knowledge on neurology, a subject that fascinates her! She also enjoys watching animal documentaries, camping, and being out in nature.
Nina joined DePorre in 2017 and has a bachelor's degree in biology from Adrian College. She appreciates the helpfulness and kindness of everyone at our hospital!
At home, Nina has two cats named Joey and Gigi; Sage, her Pitbull; and Aldo, her horse. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, crafts, and baking.
Samantha joined DePorre in 2016 and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University. While working with us, she appreciates all the time and care everyone puts in toward all the pets who come into DePorre. The team here treats every single one as if they were their own pets! Currently, she is enrolled at Macomb Community College to become a veterinary technician.
Samantha has one furbaby at home named Teddy, a Shepherd mix, and her extended fur family includes two Chihuahua mixes named Peanut and Baby and Teddy's littermate named Winnie. She also has a fur nephew named Rally, a Pitbull. Samantha is engaged to her fiance, Kevin, and they'll be married in the summer of 2019. In her spare time, Samantha participates in a bowling league with her fiance, as well as a soccer league, too. She loves exercising and watching all sorts of TV shows. Her favorite thing to do is snuggling with her furbaby, Teddy.
Stacy joined DePorre in 2019 and is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program. While working with us, she appreciates the Fear Free environment and how everyone works together to provide the best care for each pet.
Stacy lives with her boyfriend and her fur babies in Auburn Hills. Willow is a tori cat that she bottle fed as a kitten and Higgins is Humane Society rescue that she found out is an American Staffordshire Terrier/Chow Chow/Cocker Spaniel mix with a genetic test.
In her spare time, Stacy loves watching documentaries or listening to podcasts about true crime. She also enjoys 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles, photographing abandoned buildings and playing old games on Super Nintendo.
